Treatment Overview

YOUR CONSULTATION

No two people are exactly alike, and that applies to your experience of ARMD too. That’s why a consultation is as important as a diagnostic test. Your treatment plan needs to be tailored to suit you. A typical appointment with Mr Yodaiken includes not only OCT photography, but also the opportunity to describe your symptoms, which will be considered in conjunction with the OCT results.

After reviewing the imaging, the findings will be shared with you and treatment options outlined. Decisions will be made with you, not for you, and your preferences will always be taken into account.

YOUR TREATMENT

Depending on the type of ARMD you have, you might be having regular injections to your eye(s). We understand that having ocular injections can seem daunting. Patient comfort matters to us as much as patient safety so, if an injection is needed, Mr Yodaiken will make sure you feel comfortable with the procedure before going ahead.

After your injection, you can expect floaters and some discomfort. In rare cases, there is significant pain, but it usually settles within a day. The eye may be red from the injection and it may take a few days to settle.

For those who are fortunate enough to have an improvement in their vision, this may take a few days to a few months.

You are welcome to contact Mr Yodaiken with any concerns post-injection.
